This course was designed for current or expired EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, PHRN, or PHPE. This self-paced course follows the National EMS Education Standards to provide the pre-hospital provider with current EMS practice to build and refresh their existing knowledge.
The six modules of this course consist of a review of EMT concepts: Preparatory, Airway, OB, Infants and Children, Medical/Behavorial, Patient Assessment, and Trauma. Students successfully completing this course will receive an accredited certificate from HACC. The refresher does not provide practical skills validation and some states may require the traditional in-classroom course. Please refer to your state's particular requirements.
- Provide a cognitive review of tasks that require proficiency by the EMS provider to ensure safe and effective practice
- To build on the already trained pre-hospital provider's knowledge and understanding of human anatomy and physiology
- Establish a greater understanding of the importance in the application of their knowledge and skllls when performing as an Emergency Medical provider.
- Have a greater understanding of common medical terminology and its importance of its use in all types of patient reporting.

If HACC cancels a course, training, seminar, conference or trip/tour, all paid participants will receive a 100% refund of all tuition and fees. Any student who wishes to drop a course may do so by visiting or calling any of the campus Welcome Centers. These requests must be made no less than one (1) calendar day prior to the first class meeting date to be eligible for a full refund of tuition and fees, except for any tuition or fees noted as nonrefundable. Unless otherwise specifically stated or approved, no refund will be issued after a class start date. We do not issue partial refunds in the event a student starts a class late or does not complete the class. Students receiving Title IV Financial Aid will be subject to the federal regulations regarding withdrawal of classes. Financial Aid eligibility will be recalculated based on dates of participation in financial aid eligible programs.
