Course Description:
Prepares students for licensure and certification surveys and how to meet other regulatory requirements. This course discusses deficiencies, adverse actions, quality assurance and state exceptions and federal waivers. This course is one of 16 required course modules, mandated by the PA State Board of Nursing Home Administrators, that make up the 120-hour Nursing Home Administrator certificate program for those desiring to become a nursing home administrator. This course may be taken as part of the full program or as a standalone for those individuals desiring continuing education units.
Upon successful completion of the course the student will be able to:
• Understand the regulations, deficiencies, plans of correction and quality assurance as they pertain to the administration of a nursing home
• Understand plans of correction and the enforcement, regulations, scope and severity when cited for a violation
