Somatic Mindfulness - Grounding (50074)

Course Overview:

This class is exposing the massage therapist to mindfulness-based skills that can help potentiate their therapeutic competence by learning techniques based on Tragerwork principles. Application of such skills aims to stimulate the brain's neuroplasticity, introduce new neural sensory information, and activate positive neuromuscular changes in clients. Inherent to the skills is support to the therapist's own self-care. The basis of this class in particular, is the experience of grounding by promoting proprioceptive rooting for balance and stability. Feet, legs and hips, and their interconnection with the rest of the body, are the focus of this training.

Upon successful completion of the course the student will be able to:

  •  Understand the theory, the relevance to therapeutic massage, and the potential benefits to a therapeutic massage practice, of mindfulness-based Tragerwork competences.
  •  Apply hands-on techniques and embody ways of being which reflect the principles of mindful skilled action

**This class is eligible for 16 CE's to Licensed Massaged Therapists.**
