Course Overview:
This course is designed to develop the welding skill of an individual in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), commonly known as MIG Welding. This module consists of approximately eight hours of classroom instruction in GMAW theory. The balance of the training involves hands-on GMAW skill practice in the welding lab. The focus will be on learning and practicing proper welding techniques for flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead welding positions.
**Please Note: The tuition does not cover Welding Gear. Students are required to bring their own welding gloves, safety glasses, welding hood and welding jacket. Steel toe safety footwear is required.**
**WELDING SAFETY GEAR IS NOT OPTIONAL**
1. SAFETY GLASSES (must be medium to high quality and should cost at least $4-$5.
2. Welding Hood with auto darkening
3. Welding gloves appropriate for the welding process they are studying
4. Fire retardant/protective clothing from the waist up, so a welding jacket or apron or welding sleeves with the permission of the instructor.
