Course Overview

The Safety Inspection Training course informs students of the regulations/procedures, and requirements concerning Pennsylvania Safety Inspection of vehicles. This course also provides students the opportunity to complete the State Certification Exam for Pennsylvania Safety Inspections. This course is for cars and light trucks only. Additional categories require additional tests and fees. A valid driver's license is required for each category of testing. NOTE: OUT-OF-STATE DRIVER LICENSE INFORMATION If a student lives out-of-state, they must provide their out-of-state address and driver's license information. (A Pennsylvania address may only be listed by a Pennsylvania resident.) A copy of the student's out-of-state driver's license must be provided to and approved by PennDot prior to testing. If they are a Pennsylvania resident, and they still possess an out-of- state driver's license, they must surrender their out-of-state driver's license and obtain a Pennsylvania Driver's License. Learning Outcomes

The learning outcome for PA Safety Inspection is to train the student to successfully inspect a vehicle and determine according to PA regulations if the vehicle meets the safety requirements covered in this course. Upon successful completion of the written and practical exams the student becomes a certified and licensed PA Safety Inspection technician.

Refund Policy

If HACC cancels a course, training, seminar, conference or trip/tour, all paid participants will receive a 100% refund of all tuition and fees. Any student who wishes to drop a course may do so by visiting or calling any of the campus Welcome Centers. These requests must be made no less than one (1) calendar day prior to the first class meeting date to be eligible for a full refund of tuition and fees, except for any tuition or fees noted as nonrefundable. Unless otherwise specifically stated or approved, no refund will be issued after a class start date. We do not issue partial refunds in the event a student starts a class late or does not complete the class. Students receiving Title IV Financial Aid will be subject to the federal regulations regarding withdrawal of classes. Financial Aid eligibility will be recalculated based on dates of participation in financial aid eligible programs.
