Medical Assistant Program

Our Medical Assistant workforce development program prepares students to sit for NHA (National Healthcareer Association)’s CCMA exam and begin as an entry-level medical assistant. CCMA exam costs are included in the tuition. Textbook costs are also included in the tuition. Textbooks are provided on the first day of class.

This program is held entirely in-person, followed by clinicals (held the last three full weeks of class Monday-Friday, with an estimated time of 7am-5pm), then the CCMA certification exam (which takes place on the last day of class generally from 10am-1pm). *All admission requirements must be completed and physically turned into the administrative office or emailed electronically to jafoster@hacc.edu no later than two weeks prior to the first day of class. Students will not be allowed to start the program until this is completed and verified by program coordinator, Jackie Foster. The admission requirements are listed below.

-Physical Examination -Vision Exam

-Background Clearances (FBI, Child Abuse & PA State Police)

-Influenza Vaccination (if attending clinical between October and March)

-Negative two-step Mantoux test or negative QuantiFERON-TB Gold Test

-Rubella (German Measles) Status -Varicella (Chicken Pox) Status

-Measles -Mumps -Tetanus/Diptheria/Pertussis (TDAP) Status

-Hepatitis A Status -Hepatitis B Status

Medical Assistant (CCMA) *No Classes Currently Scheduled*

This program prepares students for employment as a Medical Assistant in the Ambulatory Care setting, as well as their readiness to take the National Healthcareer Association's Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Certification examination.
