What is AHA Heartcode BLS?
The American Heart Association’s HeartCode BLS uses the latest eSimulation technology to enable students to assess and treat patients in virtual healthcare settings. Utilizing a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities, this course teaches BLS knowledge and skills. This method of learning provides training consistency, adaptability to different learning styles, and flexibility for the student’s and employer’s time. Students can work at their own pace applying their knowledge to real-time decision making and skills development. After completing the online portion, students attend a hands-on session to test their skills with an AHA Instructor per the 2020 guidelines.
Who should take this class?
Medical Professionals, Doctors, Nurses, EMS Personnel, Dental Professionals, students of medical professions entering a clinical experience (such as Respiratory Therapists, Nursing, Cardiovascular Technicians, Dental Hygiene), or anyone required to have the Basic Life Support (BLS) level, certification by their place of employment or license/certification.
What are the steps to complete this certification?
(These steps must be completed entirely in order)
- Register/Enroll and complete the online portion through the American Heart Association here: https://shopcpr.heart.org/heartcode-bls .
- Register/Enroll for a hands-on session listed below:
- Bring a copy of your online completion certificate, attend, and complete the hands-on session you registered for.
- Within 7 business days, you will receive your certification card via EMAIL. Follow the email instructions to Claim Your E-Card.
What is the Refund Policy?
HACC's Refund Policy – For the Hands-on session
If HACC cancels a course, training, seminar, conference or trip/tour, all paid participants will receive a 100% refund of all tuition and fees. Any student who wishes to drop a course may do so by visiting or calling any of the campus Welcome Centers at 717-780-2414. These requests must be made no less than one (1) calendar day prior to the first-class meeting date to be eligible for a full refund of tuition and fees, except for any tuition or fees noted as nonrefundable. Unless otherwise specifically stated or approved, no refund will be issued after a class start date. We do not issue partial refunds in the event a student starts a class late or does not complete the class. Students receiving Title IV Financial Aid will be subject to the federal regulations regarding withdrawal of classes. Financial Aid eligibility will be recalculated based on dates of participation in financial aid eligible programs.
